We try to avoid printing thousands of course brochures as we're doing our best to save a few tree branches but some of you will understandably prefer to print off a document of all of the dBs courses rather than spending your day trawling through our website.
Open Days - Places available
Come and take a look at the UK’s best music technology facility. For the first time we are inviting members of the public to view our state of the art, multi million pound facility. There will be a full tour of all facilities with a short presentation and refreshments.

Students work in purpose built studio teaching suites. dBs HQ houses 12 recording studios, 2 live rooms, 2 PC Suites, 1 Mac Suite & 17 studio pods. dBs Annexe houses 4 studios, 1 live room and a lecture theatre.
The cost
We do our best to keep course costs as low as possible. Due to our partnerships with local colleges most course places are subsidised by the LSC. Some courses are available free to certain learners.

Creative Sound Eng & Music Tech
This two year modular Extended Diploma programme is run by City College Plymouth at the dBs facility. It is a broad based course covering all aspects of sound engineering & music technology including recording, remixing, film sound, live sound, TV, theatre and radio. Successful students will leave with a BTEC First Certificate and a BTEC Extended Diploma qualification which is the equivalent of 3 'A' levels.
FdA Degree Audio & Music Production
This brand new two year foundation degree course focuses on the technical and creative skills required to become a successful music producer and/or sound engineer.
FdA Degree Live Sound
This unique live sound course is run by City College Plymouth at the dBs facility in partnership with the University of Plymouth. The dBs live sound facility is based in a 450 person commercial venue but also takes place at a range of venues during the year. The 2 year course focuses on developing all of the practical and theoretical skills required for a career in live sound.
FdA Degree Sound & Music Technology
This flagship degree course is run by the University of Plymouth and Estover College at the dBs facility. This is one of the best equipped and staffed music tech & sound engineering programmes in the country and we only accept the highest calibre of student onto this course. Dedication and commitment are paramount.
Short Courses
Our short course programme is designed for those students looking to progress their knowledge in a specific piece of software. Currently these run in Pro Tools, Logic Studio, Cubase, Reason and Ableton Live and are available at all levels from beginner to pro.
